Mamburao suspends all school classes after 5.0-magnitude quake
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, prompting local officials to cancel classes while inspections are carried out.
The quake hit the municipality at 9:34 a.m. on Sept. 30. Mamburao’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office advised that schools remain closed until safety checks are completed. Mayor Glicerio S. Almero warned of possible aftershocks and said authorities will inspect each school before resuming lessons.
