Man accused of $5 million NDIS fraud denied bail after airport arrest

Foluso Omole, a dual Australian-Nigerian citizen charged with an alleged $5 million NDIS fraud scheme, was refused bail after being detained at an airport while holding a one-way ticket to Nigeria.

The 38-year-old suspect, Foluso Omole, faced a bail application in the Adelaide Magistrates Court, where a prosecutor highlighted his purchase of a one-way flight to Nigeria as evidence of flight risk. Authorities arrested him on a Friday as he prepared to leave the country. The court denied his request for release, and he is scheduled to appear again next month.

Why it matters

The denial of bail highlights the seriousness of alleged multi-million-dollar fraud against a national disability program and the risk of suspects fleeing jurisdiction.
