In Kabirpur village, Damoh district, police arrested a 30-year-old man they say killed his wife and three children using an axe. The victims were identified as Khema Patel, 27, her daughter Urmila, 7, and two sons aged five and one. According to the Damoh superintendent of police, Anand Kaladgi, the murders took place in the early hours of Saturday after a renewed dispute the previous night.
Relatives had tried to intervene but left when the situation seemed calm. Investigators also highlighted that Khema had lodged a dowry harassment complaint at Magron police station six months earlier. The husband, Dwarka Patel, was found sitting outside his house with the axe and was taken into custody without resistance.
