Man arrested for allegedly raping his 63-year-old mother while intoxicated in Hathras
Police detained a 25-year-old unmarried man accused of raping his 63-year-old mother after drinking, following a complaint by his elder brother.
In a village under the Sikandra Rao Kotwali jurisdiction of Hathras, police filed a case after the elder brother of a 25-year-old unmarried man lodged a complaint alleging his mother, aged 63, was raped while she was asleep. The complaint states the assault happened at about 9 p.m. on Thursday, with the accused reportedly intoxicated when he entered the house, subdued his mother and committed the sexual assault before escaping.
Circle officer Amit Pathak recorded the FIR and arranged for the victim's transfer to the district hospital for a forensic examination. The police have taken the suspect into custody and indicated that further legal steps will depend on the investigation's findings. The victim's identity remains confidential in line with Supreme Court guidelines on sexual-offense cases.
