Man arrested in California for killing wife after false ICE claim
Gurinder Gill was taken into custody on murder charges after his wife Jasmine Gill's burned remains were identified in El Dorado County.
Authorities in Sacramento have detained Gurinder Gill on murder charges following the discovery of his wife Jasmine Gill's burned remains in El Dorado County. The victim was last seen at the couple's Sacramento home on September 30, and her cousin reported her missing on October 4. Gill told investigators that Immigration and Customs Enforcement had taken Jasmine while she was checking mail, but ICE confirmed no such action occurred.
Further probing revealed the couple were engaged in a contentious divorce and custody dispute, and Gill's statements contained multiple contradictions. Detectives secured an arrest warrant, located Gill on October 14, and executed search warrants at two of his residences. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he remains ineligible for bail.
