Man charged with attempted murder after teen cyclist hit in Aberdeen

Around 6 p.m. on Friday, police were alerted to a collision involving a white BMW and a cyclist on Rousay Drive in Aberdeen. The 19-year-old cyclist was hospitalized after the impact, and the road was shut down while investigators examined the scene. A 37-year-old man was later arrested and formally charged with attempted murder in connection with the crash.

He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, September 28. Sergeant Scott Cooper said investigators continue to gather evidence and have appealed for witnesses or dash-cam recordings that could aid the case. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about road safety and reckless driving in the area.
