Man charged with murder after woman's body discovered in burning van

Thomas Matthew Hammond Bell, 38, was charged with murder after a woman's corpse was found inside a van that caught fire in Prestatyn.

Emergency crews were called to Gas Works Lane in Prestatyn around 11.30 pm on Sunday after reports of a van on fire. Inside the burning vehicle, officers found the body of a woman, prompting a murder investigation. Police subsequently arrested Thomas Matthew Hammond Bell, 38, of Wellington Road, Rhyl, and he is scheduled to appear in court today facing a murder charge.

The woman's identity remains undisclosed pending further inquiries. Detective chief inspector Zoie Dunkerley urged anyone with information not yet provided to get in touch via the North Wales Police website, phone line, or Crimestoppers. The case continues to be investigated.
