Man confesses to killing his wife after early-morning assault in Maharashtra
A 50-year-old man in Kannad, Maharashtra, admitted to police that he beat his 44-year-old wife to death following a domestic argument.
In the early hours of Monday, Mukesh Kumbhakarna, aged 50, allegedly struck his wife Rohini, 44, to death after a fierce argument in their Kannad residence. The family had been living in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for school reasons and had recently traveled back to Kannad for holiday celebrations. Roughly an hour after the alleged assault, Kumbhakarna presented himself at the Kannad city police station and voluntarily disclosed the killing.
Police registered a murder case against him under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are now probing the circumstances, noting that the accused frequently quarreled with his wife and doubted her character.
