Man convicted of murdering wife after strangling her in bedroom

At Newport Crown Court, Michael Davies, 58, was found guilty of murder for killing his wife, Tracey Davies, by strangulation in their bedroom on April 18. The incident occurred at their home on Bryn Terrace in Cefn Cribwr, Bridgend, after Davies returned from a security job in Abu Dhabi. Following the killing, he stabbed himself with a kitchen knife, was discovered covered in blood, and was taken to the University Hospital of Wales before being arrested.

Family members had raised concerns when they could not contact the couple, prompting a neighbor to enter the home and discover the scene. The jury delivered a unanimous verdict, and Davies was remanded in custody pending sentencing on October 2.
