Man covered in blood after stabbing leaves victim in serious condition at Auckland mall
Police responded to an incident at LynnMall on Great North Road around 11:12 am, where a man covered in blood was observed and a victim was taken to Auckland City Hospital in serious condition. Officers, including the crime squad, cordoned off part of the car park and diverted traffic. Witnesses reported hearing screams and seeing a fight near the Brickworks dining precinct. Emergency services arrived with an ambulance and rapid response vehicle.
Around 11:12 am, police were called to an incident at LynnMall on Great North Road in New Lynn, West Auckland. A man covered in blood was seen by a nearby restaurant worker, and a victim was assessed by ambulance crews and transported to Auckland City Hospital in serious condition. More than half a dozen officers, including members of the crime squad, blocked off a section of the car park and set up a perimeter around the Brickworks dining precinct, while traffic was rerouted.
Witnesses described hearing a woman scream and seeing a confrontation involving a car and a fight. Police and the mall’s owner, Kiwi Property, have been approached for comment as the investigation continues.
