Man fatally shot during memorial gathering on Braybrook Street

A man was killed in a shooting while about 40 to 50 people, including children, attended a memorial service on Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street.

A man was shot dead at the intersection of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street while a memorial service was being held, drawing a crowd of an estimated 40 to 50 people, children among them. Police have not made any arrests and have kept a cordon around the scene. Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is heading the inquiry, expressed condolences to the victim's family and urged anyone who saw suspicious activity, such as weapons, fast-moving vehicles, or unusual behavior, to contact investigators.

He also requested any photographs, video footage, or social-media posts that might help identify those responsible. The police continue to seek information through the non-emergency number 101 and Crimestoppers, referencing case CAD 7011/2Oct.
