Man filmed beating a woman beggar with a slipper outside Kapurthala temple

A video circulating on social media depicts Pawan Sharma, a shop owner opposite the Mata Bhadrakali temple, assaulting a woman beggar with a slipper and subsequently kicking her outside the temple premises. The clash happened at approximately 5.27 pm on Aug 9, and several witnesses attempted to intervene. Kapurthala City police have registered a case against Sharma for assault and for attempting to outrage the woman's modesty, invoking sections 74 and 115(2) of the BNS.

DSP Shital Singh confirmed that the victim remains missing and that investigators are coordinating with the temple committee to locate her. The police have booked Sharma, but no arrest has been reported.
