Man found dead after wife and daughter allegedly kill him over caste dispute

Authorities in Lucknow uncovered the bones of Chhote Lal Pasi, a resident of Barain Majre Hilalganj village, after he had been missing for nearly a month. His son Satish initially filed a missing-person report, but grew suspicious when no information emerged, leading him to alert police that his father might have been murdered. Police questioned his wife, Keshkali, and daughter, Chaya, who allegedly admitted to killing him and burying the body along a nearby canal embankment, about 50 metres from their house.

The motive was linked to Chaya’s relationship with a local youth, Ravi, which Chhote Lal had learned of two months earlier and opposed, reportedly chastising and assaulting his wife and daughter. Forensic teams excavated the site and sent the remains for analysis, while investigators continue to question the two women to clarify the events and check for additional involvement.
