The impact left a 31-year-old man unconscious in the sea, where nearby witnesses rescued him prior to official responders. Emergency teams, including the Alpes-Maritimes fire service, maritime rescuers and Cross Med, coordinated the operation.

The victim was quickly transferred to a Dragon-type civil-security helicopter and flown to Pasteur 2 hospital in Nice for treatment.
