Man in Black Hummer Charged Over $50 Million Meth Smuggling Plot Across Australia

In 2021 a routine traffic stop in a remote Western Australian town uncovered a motorhome loaded with meth valued at almost $50 million. Authorities allege the haul was part of a larger operation orchestrated by 50-year-old Mohammed Charif Oueida, who was traveling westward in a large black Hummer at the time. Prosecutors claim Oueida maintained a 30-minute gap behind the motorhome, directing its driver, Khaled El-Moustafa, through an encrypted messaging app using the codename “Air Force”.

Evidence presented includes tracker data, CCTV from storage units owned by Oueida’s brother in Campbellfield, and text messages arranging meet-ups and hiding spots. El-Moustafa has already been convicted and is incarcerated, while Oueida faces trafficking charges in Perth’s District Court and maintains his innocence. The trial also highlighted Oueida’s sale of encrypted phones and his alleged network to evade law-enforcement detection.
