Man in his 30s charged under anti-mafia law for handing grenades to teen
A man in his 30s has been indicted for storing and giving two hand grenades to a 13-year-old involved in a grenade explosion in Oslo.
A man in his 30s faces charges under the so-called mafia paragraph for allegedly possessing and transferring two hand grenades to a 13-year-old who took part in a grenade explosion on Pilestredet in Oslo. The incident resulted in injuries to multiple teenagers, prompting police to conduct a controlled detonation of a second grenade at the location. Initially, four youths - two aged 13 and two aged 15 - were charged, but the prosecution dropped the charges against the two 13-year-olds.
According to the indictment by State Prosecutor Alvar Randa, the accused understood the grenades were intended for a serious criminal act. Police linked the case to the Foxtrot network, suspecting a contract-style operation that recruited minors via social media. The defendant’s lawyer, Bjørn Aksel Henriksen, declined to comment. The court hearing is set for April at Oslo District Court.
