Man in his twenties found dead in Wirral home, bomb squad removes hazardous material

A man in his twenties was discovered dead inside a house in Wirral, prompting a bomb disposal team to clear unknown substances.

On Saturday afternoon, responders attended a residence on Reedville, Oxton, in the Wirral after North West Ambulance Service found a man in his twenties dead inside. Merseyside Police launched an investigation, describing the death as unexpected and confirming that the deceased’s family had been notified. As a safety measure, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit was deployed to examine and remove unidentified substances found on the premises.

Police later assured that the removal eliminated any broader danger to the public. The incident remains under investigation, with a file to be forwarded to the Coroner for further inquiry. Emergency services continued to be present at the scene the following day.
