Man Intrudes Through Child’s Window, Arrested After Attempted Assault in Lund
A man entered a six-year-old’s bedroom in Lund through a window and was detained on suspicion of attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and severe home-violation charges.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Malin and Dennis were putting their six-year-old daughter to bed in their Lund apartment when they later found a stranger sitting on the child’s mattress. The intruder, described as having a vacant stare, claimed he would stay. Dennis subdued the man while Malin secured the children and alerted authorities.
Police arrived roughly six minutes later and later arrested the man, who is in his 40s, on suspicion of attempted sexual assault of a minor, attempted kidnapping and serious home-peace violation. Prosecutor Agneta Roos labeled the conduct as grave criminal behaviour, though the suspect denies the allegations. The incident has left the family traumatized; the girl continues to wake up screaming, fearing the man’s return, and the parents are considering moving out of the home.
