Man killed with wooden plank in Queens park, police seek suspect

Around 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday, officers arrived at Rufus King Park in Jamaica after a report of an assault and discovered a 53-year-old man suffering critical head trauma. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he later died. Sources indicate the perpetrator grabbed a two-by-four from a pile of debris and struck the victim, who allegedly was acquainted with the attacker.

Police have not disclosed the victim's name or any motive behind the killing. Residents expressed shock, noting the park is usually considered safe. Earlier this summer, a woman was reported threatening park visitors with a similar wooden weapon.
