Man linked to Halden hunting group confesses after fatal shooting of two members

A shooting in Halden killed a father and son from a hunting club, injuring another member; a man in his 20s, formerly part of the club, has submitted a written confession and agreed to detention.

On a Sunday morning in Halden, gunfire was directed at a hunting group, resulting in the deaths of two men—a father and his son—and serious injury to a third participant. The victims, aged in their 40s and 70s, were part of the same club. Police have identified a suspect in his 20s who had once been a member of the group, but they have not disclosed why he left.

The suspect's attorney, Ole Richard Holm-Olsen, stated that his client has submitted a written confession of guilt and has agreed to pre-trial detention, while refusing to comment on the ongoing investigation. Prosecutor Anders Svarholt indicated that authorities are examining the suspect's relationship to the club, either as a whole or with specific individuals, through interviews and technical analysis. As of the latest update, the suspect has not yet been interrogated.
