Man pleads guilty to murder after dismembering girlfriend and hiding her head in suitcase

Damon Foy, 50, of Kerhonkson, New York, admitted to killing and dismembering Alberta Dale, 44, and pleaded guilty to murder.

Damon Foy, a 50-year-old resident of Kerhonkson, New York, pleaded guilty to the murder of 44-year-old Alberta Dale of Pennsylvania. The killing occurred between March 31 and April 1, 2024, following a pattern of domestic abuse documented by authorities. When police first arrived after Dale was reported missing, Foy whispered that she was inside and that he had killed her.

A subsequent search uncovered Dale’s abandoned car and, after a warrant was issued, a suitcase in a closet that held her severed head and other dismembered remains. The investigation also noted an axe on Foy’s property and a prior incident involving a firearm. A plea agreement calls for a prison term of 23 years to life, two years less than the maximum, with Dale’s family supporting the deal.
