Man released from prison days earlier charged in fatal youth football shooting

Tyree Reynolds, released from custody eight days before the incident, is now facing murder charges after a 12-year-old was killed and others injured at a Baltimore youth football game.

Tyree Reynolds, a 23-year-old Maryland resident, was released from state custody on Sept. 25 after completing a five-year term that had been suspended from a 15-year sentence. Within eight days, he was charged with 30 criminal counts, including murder and attempted murder, for opening fire during an argument over a parking spot at a youth football homecoming game at Leon Day Park in Baltimore. Video evidence captured him retrieving a short-barreled rifle from a backpack and shooting at two men, one of whom returned fire, striking Reynolds in the ankle.

Reynolds then fired toward the football field, striking 12-year-old Khloe Ishway, who later died, and three other bystanders. He appeared in court via video from a wheelchair, having been injured. Mayor Brandon Scott lamented the loss, vowed justice, and the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services expressed heartbreak over the tragedy.
