Man sentenced to 25 years for assaulting ten-year-old girl after prison release
A man who attacked a ten-year-old girl shortly after being released from prison was given a 25-year sentence.
After serving a 20-year sentence for attempted murder and related offenses, a repeat offender kidnapped a ten-year-old girl and took her into a nearby forest. There, he sexually abused her and made multiple attempts to suffocate her. The child resisted and called for assistance, prompting her father and the local mayor to trace her location using a phone-based locator.
When police arrived, the perpetrator escaped. The Tatabányai Törvényszék had previously imposed a 20-year term, a ten-year ban from public duties, and a lifetime prohibition on jobs involving minors. The Győri Ítélőtábda later raised the sentence to 25 years, maintaining the ban on conditional release.
Why it matters
The case highlights stricter sentencing for repeat violent offenders and reinforces protections for children.
