Man sentenced to life for killing wife and teen son with a stone in Benevento

A court in Benevento convicted Salvatore Ocone, 59, of murdering his wife Elisa Polcino, 49, and their 15-year-old son Cosimo on September 30, using a large stone weighing almost seven kilograms. After killing his wife while she slept, Ocone struck both children, dragged them down the stairs and attempted to transport them by car before fleeing for almost twelve hours. Carabinieri located him on a country road near Ferrazzano, where the teenage daughter Antonia, 17, was still alive but severely injured.

Antonia spent five and a half months recovering at Neuromed clinic in Pozzilli under the care of director Fulvio Aloj. The family’s aunt Marisa and brother Mario have remained close to Antonia, while she has not yet met her father. The life sentence follows the prosecutor’s request and reflects the brutality of the crime.
