Man sentenced to two years for running child-abuse Telegram group

Michael Fox, 55, of Capel Dewi, Llandysul, was convicted at Swansea Crown Court for operating a Telegram channel named “Foxy” that circulated indecent images of children over a two-year period. Prosecutors said he actively recruited participants, one of whom was an undercover police officer, and distributed three category A and one category B moving images of girls aged eight to eleven. Judge Paul Thomas KC described the abuse as “unspeakable” and sentenced Fox to two years and four months in prison, a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, mandatory registration on the sex offenders’ register, and ordered the destruction of a Samsung device used in the offences.

Fox’s counsel Ian Ibrahim said his client was remorseful and distraught. The case highlights how online platforms can be exploited for child exploitation and the legal repercussions for offenders.
