Man Stabs Ex-Partner in Front of 4-Year-Old, Victim in Critical Care
A 31-year-old Moroccan man stabbed his 35-year-old ex-partner with scissors in Cividate al Piano while their 4-year-old son watched; she is now in intensive care.
In the early hours of Sunday, a 31-year-old Moroccan attacked his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend with a pair of scissors at their residence in Cividate al Piano, Bergamo province, while their four-year-old son watched. The violence occurred despite a prior restraining order that prohibited the man from approaching the house and child. He struck the woman repeatedly in the neck, chest and arms, causing severe injuries; she was rushed to Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital on a yellow code but her condition quickly deteriorated and she remains in critical condition.
Neighbours heard her screams, rescued the child and called emergency services. Carabinieri and local police responded, and the suspect fled but was later identified by blood-stained clothing and captured by troops in Urgnano without resistance. He has been charged with attempted homicide and is being held pending further judicial proceedings, while the boy stays with his maternal grandparents.
