Manchester City Near Deal for Lille Midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi This Summer

Reports indicate Manchester City are about to complete a transfer for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, the 18-year-old Moroccan who played 42 matches last season. Bouaddi, praised for his tackling, interceptions and passing, is seen as a versatile box-to-box player who can also cover defensive midfield or right-back roles. While his contract with Lille extends to 2029, the English side believes they can reach an agreement before the window closes.

Manager Enzo Maresca views the signing as a long-term investment to bolster the squad and provide a future alternative to Rodri. If the deal goes through, Bouaddi will join the Premier League and aim to adapt to the higher level of competition.
