Mandalika MotoGP to Boost Indonesia's Economy with Rp5 Trillion Impact in 2026

The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix in Mandalika is expected to generate a Rp5 trillion economic boost, engaging thousands of workers and hundreds of MSMEs.

The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, set for October 9-11 in Mandalika, marks the fifth year the MotoGP has been held there since 2022. InJourney President Director Maya Watono said the race is intended to create a lasting legacy, projecting a Rp5 trillion economic impact that will involve up to 3,000 local workers and almost 600 MSMEs in sectors such as accommodation, culinary services, transport, trade and tourism.

To accommodate the surge in visitors, InJourney Airports scheduled 66 additional flights at Lombok International Airport, including regular, charter and upgraded services. Hotel occupancy around the circuit is approaching 100 percent, and spectator numbers have risen each year, reaching a record 140,324 in 2025. Danantara COO Dony Oskaria noted that five years of hosting the MotoGP has transformed West Nusa Tenggara’s tourism ecosystem, driving growth in hotels, restaurants and flight services. The organizers highlighted the need for close cooperation among ministries, state-owned enterprises, local administrations and other stakeholders to maintain the event’s momentum.

Why it matters
