Manhattan's Ellery Tower Secures First Manhattan Outlet for New Indian Restaurant Samudhra
Samudhra, a popular Indian eatery from Franklin Park, NJ, signed a lease for roughly 10,000 square feet in the Ellery residential tower, marking its debut in Manhattan.
The Ellery, a high-end residential tower at 312 West 43rd Street, has added a notable food tenant: Samudhra, an Indian restaurant and lounge that currently operates in Franklin Park, New Jersey. The lease covers approximately 10,000 square feet on the building’s West 43rd Street frontage, representing Samudhra’s inaugural Manhattan presence. Developers Taconic Partners and National Real Estate Advisors aimed to enrich the tower’s mixed-use concept with a major dining option, a goal they say is fulfilled by Samudhra.
The landlord’s deal was facilitated by CBRE agents Lon Rubackin, Michael Kadosh and Bevan Cohen, while the restaurant was represented by Brad Schwarz of Lee & Associates. The 33-story Ellery, whose taller section rises above West 42nd Street, has already leased all 330 residential units within 11 months and offers amenities including a rooftop pool, fitness center, and a recently opened ALDI grocery store in Midtown.
Why it matters
The lease brings a new dining destination to Midtown, enhancing the Ellery's mixed-use appeal and expanding Manhattan's Indian cuisine scene.
