MAPIM launches RM5 million Gaza winter relief drive

MAPIM has started a Gaza winter aid campaign seeking RM5 million to provide food, clothing, medicine and water, with distributions planned from late October through April 2027.

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (MAPIM) unveiled a Gaza Winter Humanitarian Aid Campaign 2026, targeting RM5 million in donations over a five-month period ending in April or May next year. MAPIM president Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid said the drive is timed for the upcoming winter and Ramadan, when conditions in Gaza are expected to worsen. The raised money will fund basic necessities—food, warm clothing, medicines, tents and clean water—and distribution will begin at the end of October, with a follow-up delivery in mid-November and ongoing support through April 2027.

To ensure aid reaches those in need, MAPIM will channel funds through legitimate local partners, support NGO projects, collaborate with international agencies and employ physical delivery routes. Actor and ST Rosyam Mart operator Datuk Rosyam Nor committed RM100,000 and will display campaign materials in all ten of his stores, also urging Malaysians to contribute RM10 each via his “RM10 Seorang Rakyat Malaysia” scheme on social media.
