Marana high school star receiver Sean Roebuck Jr. hospitalized after serious car accident

Marana senior receiver Sean Roebuck Jr. is in intensive care following a weekend car crash that left him with multiple fractures and other injuries.

Senior wide receiver Sean Roebuck Jr. of Marana High School suffered severe injuries in a car accident that occurred this past weekend. According to one outlet posted by Toby Bourguet, who runs Tucson Turf and is close to the family, doctors have identified a broken collarbone, two broken ribs, a fractured jaw, and a fracture of the C7 vertebra that does not need surgical intervention. Additional injuries include a fractured right eye socket, a small liver laceration, and numerous scrapes on his right side.

Roebuck remains sedated and on a breathing tube while physicians monitor his condition, and no exact timeline for waking him has been set. His father, Sean Sr., serves as an assistant coach for the school's flag football team, and his brother Dezmen Roebuck plays wide receiver at the University of Washington. The community has rallied with messages of support as the team prepares to open the season on Aug. 27 at Tucson's Salpointe Catholic.
