Marcos Jr.’s approval slips to -11 in latest SWS poll

A Social Weather Stations poll released in September 2026 indicates President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s net satisfaction dropped to -11, a four-point fall from June’s neutral rating.

Social Weather Stations released a September 2026 poll of 1,500 Filipino adults conducted through face-to-face interviews. The survey reported that 35% of respondents were satisfied with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s performance, 20% were undecided and 46% dissatisfied, giving a net satisfaction rating of -11, classified as “poor.” Regionally, the rating was neutral in Balance Luzon, but fell to -13 in Visayas, -21 in Mindanao and -27 in Metro Manila, with declines in all areas except Mindanao, which rose by 14 points since June.

The poll’s sampling error was ±3% nationally, with larger margins in regional sub-samples. About 47% of those surveyed had heard of Marcos’s penultimate State of the Nation Address, primarily through social media, while 53% had not. Of the viewers, only 13% found the speech entirely believable and another 13% thought it more believable than not, leading to a net believability score of -11, down eight points from the previous year. Satisfaction scores were unchanged regardless of whether respondents watched the SONA.

Why it matters
