Maria Karystianou threatens to leave Greece if her party fails to win seats

Maria Karystianou told Mega that if Hope for Democracy cannot win seats in the parliament, she will choose to leave Greece, emphasizing her love for the country but refusing to stay in a system she deems corrupt. She argued that ordinary citizens, not career politicians, can deliver better governance and highlighted how the Tempi trial has mobilised younger voters previously inclined toward emigration. Karystianou accused the state of orchestrating a cover-up that shields the judiciary and police from accountability, describing the regime as operating like an illegal organization.

She reiterated that the movement’s goal is to assume power, not merely oppose from the opposition benches, and ruled out any coalition with established parties. Finally, she urged the public to demand Mitsotakis’s departure while insisting on a genuinely hopeful alternative to combat corruption.
