Marine veteran arrested at Trump golf club with extensive Secret Service files and firearms
A Marine veteran detained at President Trump's golf course was found with hundreds of pages of Secret Service schedules and a loaded weapon.
Marine veteran Jeanine John Taele, 38, was detained at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles after federal agents observed him documenting security plans for President Donald Trump's upcoming visit. A search of his vehicle and home uncovered a loaded 9mm pistol, hollow-point rounds, a 16-round magazine, binoculars, a badge, and an illegally altered short-barreled rifle, as well as seven notebooks with 208 pages of Secret Service schedules, individual agent details, Melania Trump's daily agenda, and detailed golf-course sketches.
At a preliminary hearing before Judge John Lonergan, prosecutors highlighted the "alarming" nature of the material, while the defendant appeared expressionless and was declared mentally unfit to stand trial, resulting in bail revocation. He faces state charges of robbery, illegal firearm possession and related offenses, plus a federal count for possessing the unregistered rifle, which carries up to ten years. The incident occurred days before President Trump's fundraiser at the same club, prompting officials to stress the potential threat posed by armed individuals near the president.
