Marius Borg Høiby Extends Pre-Trial Detention for Four More Weeks

Marius Borg Høiby has agreed to remain in pre-trial custody for an additional four weeks, continuing his electronic ankle-monitor monitoring at Skaugum.

Marius Borg Høiby, 29, consented to extend his pre-trial imprisonment by four weeks, remaining under electronic monitoring at Skaugum. Although he objected to the detention meeting that followed King Harald's death, he ultimately accepted the extension. He has replaced his defence lawyers with Alexander Greaker and Daniel Storrvik, who argue that the police’s conditions for possible release are excessive.

The police confirmed the continuation of the electronic ankle-brace arrangement. Høiby, who is seeking employment during this period, faces an appeal hearing on 9 February next year at the Borgarting Court of Appeal. He remains convicted of two rapes and a domestic-violence charge, with a two-year contact ban and a NOK 110,000 compensation order that may be revisited in the appeal.
