Marquette basketball teams finalize Bahamas tournament dates and opponents

Marquette's men's and women's squads have announced exact game times and opponents for their upcoming Bahamas tournaments.

Marquette men's basketball, coached by Shaka Smart, has locked in its Battle 4 Atlantis schedule, opening against Texas A&M at 11 a.m. Central on Nov. 25, with the game airing on one outlet, and closing with a 4 p.m. Central contest versus Virginia on Nov. 27 on the SEC Network. The women's program, led by Cara Consuegra, will complete its non-conference slate with Illinois at 10 a.m. Central on Nov. 27 and Belmont at 3 p.m. Central on Nov. 29, both in the same Bahamas venue.

The tournament features six teams, including Iowa State and Saint Joseph's, but those opponents will not face Marquette directly. Illinois, under Shauna Green, enters the season with a 22-12 record and a #31 BartTorvik ranking, while Belmont, ranked #115, brings a 20-12 record. The schedule offers fans the chance to watch both Marquette squads without overlap and potentially travel to the Caribbean for all four games.

Why it matters

Fans and travelers can plan to watch Marquette's early-season games and schedule trips to the Bahamas.
