Marseille police and customs dismantle car export rings to North Africa

In a coordinated effort, Marseille’s police division worked with about fifteen border police officers, eight customs agents, representatives from Argos and staff from Urssaf to disrupt criminal networks exporting stolen vehicles to the Maghreb. The operation, named “Ligne Bleue,” focused on the city’s 2nd arrondissement and its port, where officials inspected cargo and passenger ships as well as garages believed to be involved in the scheme.

Early inspections involved 73 vehicles and 92 passengers, resulting in the detention of several individuals suspected of participation in the illicit trade. The raid reflects a broader crackdown on cross-border vehicle theft and illegal export channels.
