Marta Pozzan Debuts as Director with Dark Comedy Short ‘Down to Die’

Marta Pozzan, known for acting and producing, steps behind the camera for the first time with the short dark comedy ‘Down to Die’. The story centers on Maria (Pozzan) and Gabriel (Andrew Matarazzo) as their seemingly ordinary visit to a members-only club in East Los Angeles turns into a candid discussion about aging, ambition and mortality. Supporting roles feature Joe Apollonio as the club’s curatorial figure and Lindsey Normington as a warm-hearted waitress.

The film is produced by Kaley Ronayne, Nuer Taqa and Radiance Pictures, shot by cinematographer Ksusha Genenfeld, edited by Sabrina Greco, and cast by Kate Geller. Pozzan’s recent work includes co-producing independent titles that have screened at Tribeca, Stockholm and Belfast festivals. She and Apollonio are represented by Untitled Entertainment, while Normington and Matarazzo have separate talent agencies.
