Martha Stewart partners with Waymo to showcase autonomous Ojai as a mobile home

Martha Stewart teamed up with Waymo to promote its new driverless Ojai vehicle, touting it as a comfortable alternative to traditional taxis.

Waymo announced a partnership with lifestyle icon Martha Stewart, releasing a 52-second spot that treats the company's new Ojai autonomous van as a personal residence. Stewart guides viewers through the vehicle's architecture, highlighting sliding doors, a flat floor and three interior screens that interact with Google’s Gemini conversational AI. She criticizes conventional yellow cabs as cramped and lacking amenities.

The Ojai, constructed by Chinese EV maker Zeekr and fitted with Waymo’s sixth-generation Driver, accommodates up to four passengers, includes braille and screen-reader support, and lets riders adjust climate, seating and entertainment via the displays or the Waymo app. Waymo markets the model as a mobile office ideal for airport trips and small groups, especially in Los Angeles where travel time can be productive. The campaign extends Waymo’s entertainment-focused outreach, following previous music-video placements, as the firm expands Ojai service to more cities while navigating safety scrutiny from the National Transportation Safety Board.

Why it matters

The collaboration highlights how autonomous vehicles are being marketed as everyday lifestyle spaces, signaling broader consumer acceptance.
