Maruti Suzuki rolls out automatic S-CNG Swift, Dzire and Baleno under Auto Green Mission
Maruti Suzuki introduced automatic S-CNG versions of the Swift, Dzire and Baleno, highlighting strong demand and fuel-efficiency figures.
Maruti Suzuki announced the Auto Green Mission, unveiling automatic S-CNG variants of its Swift, Dzire and Baleno models to meet growing consumer interest in eco-friendly, automatic cars. Senior Executive Officer Partho Banerjee said the company has seen a sharp surge in S-CNG demand, with a 58% increase in quarterly sales compared with the same period last year and a peak monthly sale of 83,000 units in July. The new models are powered by a 1197cc Z12E engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing, coupled to a five-speed Auto Gear Shift transmission that offers clutch-less shifting.
Fuel-efficiency ratings, certified under Rule 115, stand at 35.34 km/kg for the Swift, 36.47 km/kg for the Dzire and 34.47 km/kg for the Baleno. Safety and durability have been validated at Maruti Suzuki’s R&D centre, featuring an Intelligent Injection System, stainless-steel CNG components and a microswitch that prevents engine start during refuelling. The automatic S-CNG Swift is priced at Rs 7,92,400, the Dzire at Rs 8,53,100 and the Baleno at Rs 8,32,400, ex-showroom.
