Masked gunmen open fire on Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu's home in Barnala
Three masked men fired several shots at the gate of singer Gulab Sidhu's residence in Pharwahi village early Sunday, while he was abroad.
In the early hours of Sunday, three masked individuals opened fire on the gate of Punjabi vocalist Gulab Sidhu's home in Pharwahi village, Barnala district, as shown by CCTV footage. The incident occurred at approximately 1.33 am, with the gunmen firing five to six rounds. Gulab Sidhu, who is currently in Australia, was not at the residence when the shots were fired.
Authorities have opened a probe into the attack and highlighted that Sidhu had previously been placed under police protection after earlier intimidation attempts. The singer, known for his association with the late rapper Shubhdeep Singh (Sidhu Moosewala), had also faced threats from the village sarpanch Baljinder Singh, alias Kinda, who was arrested earlier this year. Barnala SSP Md Sarfaraz Alam confirmed the police are examining the case.
