Masked intruders haul equipment from TMC office after alleged early-morning raid

Video released by the Trinamool Congress depicts masked, helmeted men walking out of its Camac Street office in Kolkata carrying television screens, a printer and other items after an alleged early-morning assault. The party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said the raid occurred at about 4.30 am, with BJP supporters allegedly using weapons, seizing phones, and smashing furniture, while police allegedly delayed response for almost two hours.
He labeled the incident a "disgraceful assault on the rule of law" and called for the arrest of all involved, as well as an inquiry into who organized the attack and why police did not act. TMC has sent letters to President Droupadi Murmu and West Bengal Governor RN Ravi seeking urgent meetings to discuss what it describes as a systematic misuse of police and deteriorating law-and-order conditions. MP Derek O'Brien confirmed the letters were dispatched on Thursday morning. BJP West Bengal president Samik Bhattacharya dismissed the accusations, arguing that if the BJP were seeking revenge, no defeated TMC leaders would have escaped unscathed, and suggested internal TMC conflicts were responsible for the vandalism.
