Masked vigilante group stages highway blockades and sea interceptions over UK immigration

Patriot Platform, a newly formed English vigilante network, carried out a series of coordinated actions in September, beginning with a four-hour blockade of the Dover approach road that disrupted the main link to the continent. The next night the group descended on Southsea near Portsmouth, confronting riot police and blocking government-run coach convoys that move rescued migrants to accommodation. On September 21 they forced rescue vessels to dock at Dover, and the following day Thomas and a small crew intercepted two migrant dinghies, slashing one with a knife while shouting nationalist slogans.

Thomas, a former tank driver with the King’s Royal Hussars who previously served prison time, frames the actions as “lawful, coordinated” defense against a government he says subsidises illegal entry and crime. Local police commissioner Donna Jones called the strain on officers “unsustainable,” while Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood warned she will use “the full force of the law” if the group targets a planned settlement at Piddington.
