Masoutis reports record sales and expansion after acquiring Kritikos

Masoutis finished 2025 with its highest sales ever and a staff count that rose slightly from the previous year. By the end of December it operated 382 outlets, including standard supermarkets, Grand-stores and Cash & Carry locations. The chain launched a new Grand-store in the Three Bridges district of Athens during 2026 and, in May, the Competition Commission approved its acquisition of the Kritikos network, barring six large supermarkets and 47 affiliated stores to avoid market concentration.

Store signage for the former Kritikos locations will be updated by year-end. Management projects a notable rise in turnover for 2026, driven by price-strategy measures, inflation-adjusted pricing and new collaborations, while acknowledging reduced consumer purchasing power, higher raw-material costs, logistics hurdles, shifting shopper behaviour, and staffing shortages.
