Mass funeral in Gaza's Zeitoun district honors roughly 100 victims, including 55 members of the Malka family
A funeral was held Saturday in the Zeitoun neighbourhood southeast of Gaza City for roughly 100 Palestinians whose remains were recovered from demolished houses. Gaza civil defence officials said the recovered bodies included 55 members of the Malka family, who had taken shelter in the building two years ago during an earlier Israeli bombing campaign. Relatives, community members and political figures attended, with the coffins draped in Palestinian flags.
The burial took place at al‑Ahli cemetery. The ceremony is part of the second phase of a project launched on July 19 to excavate victims still buried under rubble across Gaza City and the northern and central enclave.
