Mattel unveils $330 full-scale Xbox building-brick set with interactive features

Mattel is releasing a 3,509-piece building-brick kit that recreates the original Xbox in exact size, priced at $330. The package contains a chunky controller and three small diorama modules that pay homage to Halo: Combat Evolved, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Psychonauts, each with its own figurine and removable display option. When a button on the controller is pressed, a lighting sequence illuminates the corresponding module while the game’s soundtrack plays; a secret button combination triggers an exclusive lighting pattern.

The set can be ordered now via Amazon, Best Buy and Mattel Creations. Although the cost surpasses that of the historic console and the Xbox Series S at its debut, the product is insulated from component-price inflation. This offering adds to the growing trend of classic gaming consoles being reimagined as construction toys.
