Matthew Jones MS on what he wants to achieve in the Senedd
'I want to be the guy that did something' | Matthew Jones MS on what he wants to achieve in the Senedd The Plaid Cymru politician wants to be a campaigner and a voice for those who don't feel represented Matthew Jones has many causes which are close to his heart. His hope is that he can use his position as a Senedd member to be a voice for the communities he represents. The 38-year-old was elected for Plaid Cymru in May's election to represent Sir Fynwy Torfaen, a constituency which includes the town where he was born in Pontypool, and where now lives, in Cwmbran.
He says that he didn't feel when he was growing up that there were politicians who represented or spoke for people like him. While deserted high streets may be a hot topic now, he says that Pontypool felt "forgotten" even when he was younger.
