Mauricio Ruffy eyes title shot as he prepares to face Arman Tsarukyan

Lightweight contender Mauricio Ruffy says he is focused on his own game ahead of his UFC 331 co-main event against Arman Tsarukyan in Los Angeles.

Mauricio Ruffy, the No. 7 lightweight contender, is set to fight No. 2 Arman Tsarukyan in the co-main event of UFC 331 in Los Angeles on Sept. 19. Ruffy called the matchup a clear gateway to a possible title shot and said he has worked his whole career toward this moment. In a recent interview, he explained that he will focus on executing his own game plan rather than worrying about Tsarukyan’s grappling prowess.

He noted that the Armenian-Russian opponent presents a tough challenge, especially on the wrestling front, but Ruffy is confident in his preparation. The Brazilian fighter stressed that actions in the octagon will be the ultimate proof of his readiness, and he feels prepared and eager for the contest.
