Maxis and KUSKOP launch Perkasa Halal program to train 6,000 halal entrepreneurs by 2029

In Kuala Lumpur, Maxis announced a partnership with the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) to deliver the Perkasa Halal initiative, targeting the training of 6,000 entrepreneurs by 2029. Launched during the Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2026, the program combines KUSKOP’s Halal Sukses scheme with Maxis’ eKelas Usahawan (eKU) digital-learning platform. Entrepreneurs begin with practical lessons in digital marketing and online revenue generation, while the most promising candidates progress to a three-month eKU Accelerator that offers intensive instruction and group mentoring.

Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong said the project supports the 13th Malaysia Plan’s focus on MSME empowerment and aims to boost the competitiveness of Malaysian halal products abroad. Maxis chief corporate affairs officer Azizul Abdul Rahman highlighted ongoing support through an alumni network that provides continued development sessions, industry connections and follow-up assistance to sustain growth.
