Mayoral and council seats up for vote in three Hungarian villages

Following decisions by their respective local councils to dissolve, the villages of Csobánka, Mátraderecsk and Pusztaszentlászló are preparing for interim elections. In Csobánka, around three thousand inhabitants will vote for one of two independent mayoral candidates, Kollár-Farsang Kitti or Kelemen Zoltán, and for six council seats contested by fifteen independent candidates. Mátraderecsk’s roughly 1,400 voters will choose among six independent mayoral hopefuls—Erős-Kovács Anita, Fejes Katalin, Huszárné Orosz Éva, Kiss Andrea, Matyus Péter and Orosz Tamás—and fourteen independents for six council positions; the former Fidesz-KDNP mayor Forgó Gábor is not running.

In Pusztaszentlászló, about five hundred voters will decide between two mayoral candidates, Éder Ervin and Kovács Viktória, while six independents compete for four council seats, including the four former council members. Additionally, Serbian minority voters in Siklós will elect representatives to their local minority self-government.
